I am sick of SMRT north line

My train was delayed 3 times today. If each time was an estimated delay of 10 minutes, the SMRT has successfully wasted 30 minutes of my life today.

1st delay - "Due to the congestion ahead, this train will be slightly delayed" Slightly your head! 10 minutes is not slightly!

2nd delay - "Due to a train fault, this train will be slightly delayed" AGAIN!? Get ALL of your trains SERVICED properly!

3rd delay - "Hi, did someone press the emergency button?" Thanks. The stupid train jerked so violently that someone got injured. The service crews took ages to come and help the person.

I can't wait to move and hence no longer need to take this north line. It's always the north line. WHAT IS WRONG WITH SMRT!

Letter To Men

Men are such blockheads!!! blockhead!

That they got me real mad mad at times... so much so that I want to chop off their heads and cook them. cook

Men are so clueless clueless and that make me really want to pinch them pinch and shout right into their ears - "WHICH PART OF I DON'T LIKE IT AND YOU MADE ME ANGRY DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND!" But most likely they will just give you their "erm...and?" look which will make you cry to God wondering what you have gotten yourself into.

So my dear ladies, say no to letting them off now. We cannot let them off easily! Each time they do stupid things and think it's cool , call the women up and we'll show them!

Take us for granted?!
Don't give us your quality one-to-one time?!
Give us empty promises?!
Use the "It's hard to change a habit" excuses on us?!
Make us cry?!

So listen to me now and listen properly. We only have this much limit to being the sweet, considerate girlfriends who blow you little kisses. Add an extra straw and break our break? Then prepare to die.

We girls rule! And you know it! So don't even try to test our patience. We don't want to be nasty.

Meow,
Your cute little kitties with claws.

2 short stories to share

1) The Pretty Lady & Two monks

Once upon a time an old monk and a young monk were
traveling together. They came to the bank of a river and found
the bridge was damaged. They had to wade across the river. There they found a pretty lady stuck at the damaged bridge who couldn't cross the river on her own. The old monk offered to carry the pretty lady across the river on his back. The lady accepted. The young monk was shocked by the move of the old monk. "How can big disciple brother carry a lady when we are supposed to avoid all intimacy with females?" thought the young monk. But he kept quiet.

The old monk carried the lady across the river and
the young monk followed unhappily. When they had crossed the river,
the old monk let the lady down and they parted ways with her.All along
the way for several miles, the young monk was very unhappy with the act of
the old monk. He was making up all kinds of accusations about the old monk in his head. This got him madder and madder. But he still
kept quiet. And the old monk had no inclination to explain his
situation. Finally, at a rest point many hours later, the young monk could not stand it any further, he burst out angrily at the old monk.

"How can you claim yourself a devout monk, when you
seize the first opportunity to touch a female, especially when she is
very pretty? All your teachings to me make you a big hypocrite."

The old monk looked surprised and said, "I had put
down the pretty lady at the river bank many hours ago, how come you
are still carrying her along?" This very old Chinese zen story reflects the thinking of many people today. We encounter many unpleasant things in our life, they irritate and make us angry. Sometimes, they even cause us lot of hurt or make us bitter. But like the young monk, we are not willing to let them go away.

We keep on carrying the baggage of the "unpleasant
memory" with us. We let them keep on coming back to hurt us, make us
angry, make us bitter and cause us a lot of agony. Why?

Simply because we are not willing to put down or let
go the baggage of the "unpleasant memory/feelings". We should let it go
immediately after the unpleasant event is over. This will help in
removing the agony.

2) The Frogs
A farmer came into town and asked the owner of a restaurant if he could use
a million frog legs. The restaurant owner was shocked and asked the man
where he could get so many frog legs!

The farmer replied,"There is a pond near my house that is full of frogs
---millions of them. They all croak all night long and they are about to
make me crazy!" So the restaurant owner and the farmer made an agreement
that the farmer would deliver frogs to the restaurant, five hundred at a
time for the next several weeks.

The first week, the farmer returned to the restaurant looking rather
sheepish, with two scrawny little frogs. The restaurant owner said, "Well...
where are all the frogs?" The farmer said, "I was
mistaken. There were only these two frogs in the pond. But they sure were
making a lot of noise!"

Next time you hear somebody criticizing or making fun of you, remember, it's
probably just a couple of noisy frogs. Also remember that problems always
seem bigger in the dark. Have you ever laid in
your bed at night worrying about things which seem almost overwhelming like
a million frogs croaking? Chances are pretty good that when the morning
comes, and you take a closer look, you'll wonder what all the fuss was
about.

Smoking.

I once blogged about how the smoke (from cigarette) that lingers on clothes, etc will be harmful to me. Some of you MSN me and started laughing at me because you believed that smoke don't linger on clothes, and even if they do, they merely stink and won't cause me to suffer from health problem.

Go fuck yourself now.

Third-Hand Smoke is a First-Class Problem
http://health.msn.com/health-topics/quit-smoking/articlepage.aspx?cp-documentid=100230394>1=31020

Stuart Abramson, M.D., a pediatric immunologist at Texas Children's Hospital, also in Houston, says that cigarette smoke contains about 4,000 chemicals and a sizable number of carcinogens and contaminants, including benzene, butane and hydrogen cyanide.

"If children are in a room where people are smoking, the dose of these contaminants is high," says Abramson. And, he says, when the particles land and embed themselves on objects in the home, you have the risk of children receiving chronic exposure to these contaminants. "It may be as simple as an infant, being held, inhaling and touching toxins from a smoking parent's clothing. Both high doses and chronic exposure are harmful to children," says Abramson. Stotts believes chronic exposure over long periods of time has the most damaging effect.

So why are you still smoking and giving me 2nd AND 3rd hand smoke? :(

I'm a 2nd and 3rd hand smoker. I will die very soon. In fact, I'm DYINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG already!!! Enough, QUIT NOW!

Support local film!

My friend, Michael Tay, has won 3 awards for his short film "Wet Season". He also just got nominated for Sundance Festival 2009 under the International Dramatic Shorts category. His film is the ONLY one from Asia, woo hoo!

Wet Season / 水枪 - Michael Tay

Utilizing stop-motion animation, the production pays tribute to the young filmmaker's real-life father who passed away six years ago. Wet Season provides snippets of the relationship between Michael and someone unknown, represented by a skeleton. Watched Michael display his yearning for the person represented by the skeleton and be touched when you realise who the skeleton represented.

His short film has been included in the DVD anthology Singapore Shorts Vol. 2. Do support him and get the DVD! :)

For more info on the DVD and how to purchase it, please go to the official website:

Tough, tough Notebook

SINGAPORE : The Tokyo rush hour is notorious for its human sardine cans, where commuters are packed neck to neck and shoulder to shoulder by train staff wearing white gloves. The sheer force of the mass of bodies being shoved into the train carriages is enough to crack a laptop screen.

Except, maybe, for Panasonic’s line of physically-resilient ToughBook laptops.

In Japan, the ToughBook has had the lion’s share of the business market for the past three years. No surprises there.

These hardy notebooks go through a rigorous test of high-pressure water sprays, drop tests and endurance tests of rapid temperature changes. The ToughBook series has also been ruggedised further specially for the United States Army to ensure stable performance under extreme weather conditions.

Dogs

Story goes like this: Female dog was knocked down by a car and died. Male dog went up to her and protected her by lying on top of her so that the cars won't knock into her again. He tried waking her up, but when failed, he struggled to carry her back to the road side. He didn't manage to do so, so he sat by her side and cried, refusing to leave.
